'Who We Are' Statement

'Who We Are' Statement

At NZCCA our aim is to be a faith-filled, loving community of professional counsellors who have chosen to follow Christ and identify as Christian (i.e. who know, love and serve Jesus).

For more information on the Christian foundation of NZCCA, follow this link to our Objects in the ‘NZCCA Rules of the Association’.

The aim of NZCCA is to set and maintain the highest possible standards of professional practice, and to support one another in our work as counsellors in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We hold ourselves accountable to ethical practice as stipulated in our NZCCA Code of Ethics and Practice, and we show acceptance without discrimination to all people.

Within NZCCA we are guided by four key values as we serve each other, our clients, and the community:

  1. Whakawhanaungatanga: connection, building relationships.
  2. Manaakitanga: welcoming and caring.
  3. Karakia: prayer, the door-opener for Wairua.
  4. Aroha: embracing one another.

Stand firm in the faith… do everything in love” (1 Cor.16:13,14)
